It involves improving knowledge, skills, systems and institutions and it is often achieved through training, raising public awareness, and encouraging networking and co-operation.

Power of Sport

The Power of Sport’ is a series of five short animated films accompanied by learning modules and a facilitators’ guide. The films illustrate how sport can be used as a tool for peace-building and shares the methodologies adopted by PeacePlayers International (PPI) in its work in Cyprus and elsewhere. They can be used by organisations and coaches looking to use sport as a tool for conflict transformation. The learning modules are targeted towards young people aged between 14 and 20.

Participatory Peacemaking

The Participatory Peacemaking project aimed to create opportunities for senior political and civic leaders of the two communities in Cyprus to discuss their role in the peace negotiations. The project brought together senior representatives of the civic and political leadership from Cyprus, Northern Ireland, South Africa and the Balkans to share experiences of peace-making and reconciliation.

Join Us for Awareness

Through this project, a two-day event was organised with seminars, workshops and a reception to bring together all the Gender Active Dialogue Network members from rural centres in the Turkish Cypriot community in order to extend the impact of the priorities of the network to a wider audience, including decision-makers.

DOCYouth Camp

In this week-long youth-oriented film program participants had the opportunity to work with the renowned film theorist, Michael Renov and the award-winning director Alex Rotaru along with Cypriot filmmakers to develop documentary techniques and create their own short films. During the camp, participants viewed, discussed and analyzed other youth-oriented documentary films.

Collaborative Media Initiative

The Collaborative Media Initiative was a one-year project implemented under the auspices of the Cyprus Community Media Centre that aimed to facilitate an improvement in bi-communal relationships through dialogue, and to increase media collaboration opportunities in the two communities.
