Dialogue & Diversity

Dialogue & Diversity reflects the ability of communities and societies to value diversity and promote open and honest dialogue between different groups. Pluralism and multiculturalism can only flourish in societies where difference is respected and appreciated and where citizens are provided with both the skills and the space to genuinely listen to each other and develop a constructive dialogue.

The Socialholic Typewriter

Fri, 2015-06-05 17:24 -- Florin Marin
The Socialholic Typewriter is a creative writing tool which enables users to collaboratively tell stories, connect with their readers, and raise inter-cultural awareness to support diversity of cultural expression. The idea was born in Cyprus after observing that literature, an influential cultural resource, has been developing separately in the two main communities and that, due to the language barrier, texts are not readily available to the members of the other community.

It focuses on a multicultural area with families of diverse income, creating a link between Point Centre for Contemporary Art (www.pointcentre.org), and the near-by Eleneio: a historic municipal primary school, battling poverty, xenophobia, and diminishing enrolments, in an area of increasing gentrification and social inequality.
